Legal Counsel (Media / Content / Entertainment)

Our client are a global media & entertainment group, recruiting a Legal Counsel for content distribution. You'll work across multiple divisions including Direct-to-Consumer & Content Sales, and collaborate with APAC / global.

Responsibilities:

• - Provide legal support for business growth in Japan, mainly in Direct-to-Consumer, Content Sales, and Channels sectors.
• - Draft, negotiate, and review agreements related to marketing, promotions, content licensing, and content acquisition. Negotiate agreements.
• - Oversee and direct outside counsel effectively.
• - Provide legal support for Asia-Pacific and/or global projects.
• - Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and correspondence.

Qualifications:

• - J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent.
• - Licensed to practice law in Japan (preferred)
• - Experienced with entertainment / content distribution (preferred).
• - Knowledgeable in Japanese corporate/commercial law, civil code, consumer protection laws, and intellectual property law (particularly copyright, trademark, & competition)
• - Fluent in Japanese
