Legal Counsel, Medical Device Industry 法務顧問 医療機器業界

Our client, a leading company in the medical device industry, is seeking a Legal Counsel based in Tokyo, Japan. This role offers the opportunity to lead legal services in Japan and other regions, providing strategic legal advice and ensuring compliance with local and global regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
- Manage non-disclosure agreements lifecycle
- Advise on contractual matters for business development
- Ensure compliance with local industry codes
- Lead legal aspects of distributor management system
- Advise on data privacy and labor law issues
- Provide legal training in Japanese
- Coordinate with corporate Data Protection and external counsel
- Implement legal risk mitigation measures

Qualifications:

- Law Degree
- 2-3 years PQE in in-house role or law firm
- Japanese mother tongue and excellent English proficiency
- Experience in healthcare industry is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with contract drafting and negotiation
- Familiarity with Japanese data privacy and labor laws
- Ability to provide legal training in Japanese
- Experience with compliance programs and risk mitigation
