As they embark on an ambitious expansion into the Japanese market, we have been exclusively retained to search for a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to spearhead their operations as the Head of Japan.

[The Opportunity]

This is a rare and exclusive opportunity for a seasoned real estate investing and/or advisory professional to leave their mark on the industry by establishing our client's Japan office from the ground up. As the Head of Japan, you will source new investment deals, drive business development, and assemble a top-tier local team to make a significant impact in the market.

[Key Responsibilities]

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the Japanese market, in alignment with the company's global vision and growth objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential investment deals in logistics assets, conducting thorough due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Build a strong network of industry contacts, including brokers, developers, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage end-to-end deal processes, from origination and negotiation to closing and asset management.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing local team.
  • Collaborate closely with the global executive team to ensure the successful integration of the Japan office into the company's worldwide operations.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, and be the public face of the organization in Japan.

[Required Skills and Qualifications]

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in real estate investing and or advisory, with a proven track record of success in the Japanese market.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of the Japanese real estate market, including relevant regulations and market trends.
  • Fluency in Japanese, with business level English ability (both written and spoken) is essential.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across cultures.
  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for driving business growth.
