Our client are a Japanese-headquartered leader in space technology, searching for a General Counsel. This is a chance to take a senior HQ leadership role in a fast-growing company at the front of new technology.

Responsibilities:

• Manage drafting, negotiation, and finalization of various contracts including NDAs, business agreements, and labor-related contracts in both Japanese and English.
• Develop and enforce compliance policies and conduct related training.
• Prepare legal documentation and oversee statutory filings related to shareholder and board meetings.
• Handle intellectual property registrations.
• Support international subsidiaries.
• Support in resolving litigations and disputes
• Coordinate with external legal experts as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• At least 15 years of relevant experience in corporate legal roles.
• Able to work in both Japanese & English (ability in contract drafting and negotiation in both languages)
• Experience in legal management of shareholder and board meetings as per Japanese corporate law.
• Experience with overseas subsidiaries (preferred).
• Experience in the space industry or related fields (preferred).
• Licensed as a lawyer in Japan (preferred).
