FP&A Manager (13m JPY, FMCG, Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced FP&A Manager for our client in the FMCG sector. Based in Tokyo, this hybrid role involves improving financial performance and supporting growth through financial analysis and insights. You will work in a collaborative setting that values innovation and sustainability.


Key Responsibilities:
  • - Work with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and G&A teams to create monthly forecasts.
  • - Analyze P&L variances and review supply chain costs, including sea freight, warehousing, and delivery, to integrate them into forecasts.
  • - Help sales teams with profit margin analysis to support pricing and spending choices, and assess marketing investments for profitability.
  • - Conduct GAP analyses against budgets and forecasts in different currencies.
  • - Manage accounting operations, prepare monthly closing schedules, and handle accruals and inventory revaluations under IFRS standards.
  • - Prepare and analyze monthly accounting and tax reports for corporate submission, resolve discrepancies across financial systems, and produce detailed financial reports, including sales, cash flow, and EBIT analysis.


Candidate Profile:
  • - Skilled in advanced Excel and familiar with SAP BW databases, with a strong understanding of P&L structures and financial modeling.
  • - Background in cost accounting with relevant certifications (US CPA or equivalent preferred) and 8–10 years of relevant finance experience.
  • - Professional, ethical, and able to work independently with excellent communication skills in both Japanese (native level) and English (proficient).
  • - Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, and capable of meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
