FP&A Analyst (7M JPY, FMCG, Hybrid)

We are seeking a skilled FP&A Analyst to join a leading FMCG company’s finance team in Tokyo.

This hybrid role blends international and Japanese business practices. The ideal candidate will use their financial planning and analysis skills to support strategic decisions and improve business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the finance planning cycle, including annual plans and monthly reviews.
• Work with the accounting team on monthly closings and performance reports.
• Analyze performance data to spot trends and ensure accurate reporting across departments.
• Organize key meetings, like P&L reviews and forecasts, to support business discussions.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop business cases and assess financial impacts.
• Use tools like Power BI to analyze revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
• Assist the sales team with budget monitoring and aligning forecasts with actuals.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to provide actionable business insights.
• Oversee planning for annual budgets, strategic plans, and monthly forecasts.
• Integrate budgets across functions, identifying key drivers and risks.
• Improve forecasting tools and lead initiatives for cost savings and efficiency.
• Work on revenue management projects to support growth and profitability goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; professional certifications (USCPA/CMA/CPA/CIA) are a plus.
• Over 5 years’ experience in financial planning or business control in a multinational company.
• Strong financial analysis skills, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow.
• Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork skills and ability to build relationships across functions.
• Experience with SAP and background in FMCG is a plus.
• Proactive and skilled at solving complex financial issues.
• Able to stay calm under pressure and communicate effectively.
