Director, Financial Control (Investment Banking, 20m+)

Our client, a leading global investment banking and capital markets firm, is seeking a Director of Financial Control for their Product Control team. This role offers the unique opportunity to interact directly with trading desks and business management, playing a key role in building the team infrastructure of a joint venture company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Produce daily P&L reports and analyses
- Conduct month-end balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation
- Enhance and automate P&L production processes
- Provide weekly financial commentary for management
- Oversee financial control for trading desks
- Review and approve team tasks as an independent checker

Qualifications:

- Prior experience in Product Control, preferably Equities
- Qualified Accountant
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Strong communication in English & Japanese
- Experience with financial reconciliation and balance sheet substantiation
- Experience with process automation tools (e.g., VBA, Python) is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in financial reporting and management commentary
