Assistant Financial Controller (Manufacturing Leader)

Location: Yokohama

Our client are a a globally-respected manufacturing firm with a strong presence in Japan. They are hiring an Assistant Financial Controller.

You'll report directly to the regional controller, & have the chance to manage a team. You'll be responsible for a wide range of key finance operations tasks such as accounting, tax reporting, credit control, banking, and audit coordination. Responsibilities:

• Team leadership.
• Manage accounting activities, ensuring they are accurate and timely.
• Conduct local tax reporting and oversee banking operations.
• Coordinate audits, including conducting annual self-assessments and risk evaluations.
• Oversee month-end adjustments and monitor financial outcomes, assisting in business reviews.
• Participate in business control activities, focusing on local reporting and accounting.
• Lead projects related to investments and system implementations.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in Finance/Accounting.
• Experience in business control (preferred).
• Experience in international environments (preferred).
• Ability to manage teams and implement ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Japanese accounting standards and IFRS.
• Fluent Japanese ability is mandatory.
