Job Title: Application Engineer

A leading global manufacturing company is seeking an Application Engineer for its offices in Osaka or Yokohama, Japan. This role requires an individual with a solid grasp of Factory Automation (FA) technology, keen problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for developing business relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply FA technology knowledge to solve customer applications, respond to technical queries, and manage product faults and returns.
• Assist in the growth of business through product demonstrations at exhibitions, seminars, and customer visits.
• Facilitate the goals of the sales organization by coordinating with sales colleagues, technical teams, and customers.
• Deliver training on new product introductions to both internal teams and customers.
• Participate in industry events, training, and professional networking to augment knowledge and industry connections.
• Monitor market and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
• Specialize in a specific technology area to add value to the technical team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Japanese.
• Prior experience in automation projects or support.
• Familiarity with materials handling, robotics, or automotive manufacturing automation.
• Working knowledge of PLC-based automation platforms.
• Basic understanding of PC-based control and programming.
• Intermediate proficiency in PLC Programming will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of complex sensor applications, data handling, and networking in factory automation is preferred.
• Basic CAD skills for layout and technical drawing are desirable.

資格と経験

• 電子、メカニックス、産業工学、または関連する分野の学士号。
• 英語の堪能。
• オートメーションプロジェクトまたはサポートの経験。
• 材料の取り扱い、ロボット工学、または自動車製造自動化に精通していること。
• PLCベースのオートメーションプラットフォームの実用知識。
• PCベースの制御とプログラミングの基本的な理解。
• 中級レベルのPLCプログラミングの能力はプラスとなります。
• 複雑なセンサーアプリケーション、データハンドリング、および工場自動化のネットワーキングに関する知識が望ましい。
• レイアウトと技術図面に対する基本的なCADスキルが望ましい。
