We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join a leading retail company in Tokyo. This hybrid role involves managing accounts payable and ensuring compliance with Japanese and US accounting standards. The position offers a good balance between work and personal life, along with opportunities for career growth in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Process accounts payable invoices and payments using SAP.
• - Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including journal entries.
• - Reconcile balance sheets and manage tax data like consumption and withholding tax.
• - Handle intercompany transactions and keep track of fixed assets.
• - Assist with tax filings and audits.
• - Work with internal teams to uphold accounting policies and solve accounting issues.
• - Take part in various financial tasks and help improve processes.

Qualifications:

• - Advanced accounting knowledge, similar to Bookkeeping 2nd grade.
• - Over three years of accounting experience in businesses or audit firms.
• - Fluent in Japanese (native-level) and proficient in English.
• - Skilled in using SAP and Microsoft Excel.
• - Detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and able to work independently or in a team.
• - Highly motivated, trustworthy, and adaptable to business changes.
