We are recruiting for an experienced Accounting Manager for a leading retail company based in Tokyo. This is a great chance to join a growing international team, improve financial processes, and ensure compliance in the Japanese market.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Manage the month-end closing process to ensure accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss accounts.
- - Handle reconciliation of various e-commerce sales channels, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- - Work with external advisors to manage tax obligations, including consumption, income, and asset taxes, and enhance compliance systems.
- - Collaborate with the global finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and communication to ensure alignment and clarity.
- - Use critical thinking to implement practical improvements, apply technology and AI for better workflows and insights, and enhance the finance function.
Candidate Profile:
- - Fluent in both Japanese and English at a business level.
- - Over 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with skills in general ledger, month-end/year-end close, tax compliance, and audit, ideally in manufacturing, e-commerce, or retail.
- - CPA or similar professional accounting/finance certification.
- - Strong accounting knowledge and critical thinking skills in commercial settings.
- - Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- - Excellent communication skills to influence and engage with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- - Ability to work independently while ensuring compliance and attention to detail.
