As a mission-driven organization and a certified B Corp, we bridge the gap between rigorous science and consumer-led innovation to build a healthier society and a more sustainable planet.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Medical Manager to lead scientific credibility and product differentiation for our Japanese portfolio. This is a high-impact role requiring seamless collaboration with regional and global stakeholders.
We are looking for an agile, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate is a "challenge-seeker" who is comfortable stepping outside traditional boundaries to manage complex, end-to-end projects.
Language Note: Native-level English fluency is mandatory. Japanese proficiency is highly preferred. We strongly encourage applications from qualified foreign nationals who meet these linguistic requirements.
Core Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Medical Leadership
  • Architect and execute the Japan-specific medical strategy and annual roadmaps.
  • Clearly define the therapeutic value and scientific distinctiveness of our consumer health brands.
  • Partner with Commercial, Regulatory, and Global Medical teams to fuel the local innovation pipeline.
  1. Evidence Generation & Insight
  • Lead the design and management of local clinical trials, Real-World Evidence (RWE) initiatives, and observational studies.
  • Generate robust data to support product claims, strategic positioning, and regulatory filings.
  • Distill complex scientific data into accessible, compelling narratives for both Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and the general public.
  1. External Engagement & Advocacy
  • Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic bodies, and medical societies.
  • Facilitate scientific exchange through advisory boards, educational forums, and industry events.
  • Gather and synthesize field insights to influence brand evolution and strategic direction.
  1. Innovation & Product Lifecycle
  • Provide critical medical guidance for new product development and local registration strategies.
  • Identify science-backed opportunities to enhance product claims and extend the lifecycle of existing brands.
  • Conduct medical assessments for potential business development and acquisition opportunities.
  1. Governance & Compliance
  • Serve as the guardian of ethical conduct, ensuring all activities align with local regulations, industry codes, and internal SOPs.
  • Oversight and medical approval of all promotional, advertising, and educational materials to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
  1. Scientific "Edutainment" & Literacy
  • Spearhead the creation of engaging "edutainment" content that simplifies scientific concepts for consumers and HCPs alike.
  • Leverage digital and physical platforms to increase health literacy and build brand trust.
Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field.
  • Language: Mandatory native-level English; Japanese fluency is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proven track record in clinical research, RWE, and cross-functional project management.
  • Soft Skills: A proactive, "growth-mindset" personality with the ability to multitask in a high-pressure, dynamic setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience within a multinational healthcare or pharmaceutical corporation.
  • An established network within the Japanese medical and regulatory landscape.
  • A genuine passion for self-care innovation and consumer health.
