Our client, a leading company in the fashion retail industry, is seeking a Head of Finance fluent in Japanese for a hybrid role offering a competitive salary of 15-18 million JPY.

This position provides the opportunity to lead a team of accountants, oversee all accounting operations, and support strategic financial planning, working closely with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
- Design and enforce internal controls for data integrity
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Analyze financial performance to identify trends and risks
- Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury operations
- Lead ERP/accounting systems implementation or enhancement

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Fluency in Japanese, Business-level English
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
- 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
- Proficiency with ERP systems SAP S4/HANA, HFM (Hyperion)
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience in the retail industry is preferred but not mandatory
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred but not mandatory
