We are looking for a Global Markets Legal Specialist for our Tokyo office. Your role will focus on capital market legal duties in the Global Market Division. You will provide legal support and ensure we follow both local and global regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer legal advice and handle documents for capital market tasks, including drafting and reviewing agreements like ISDA/CSA, Japanese law repos, and GMRA/GMSLA.
- Advise business units on legal and transaction issues, ensuring they align with the bank's interests.
- Work with internal teams and external lawyers to tackle legal and regulatory issues efficiently.
- Support the Compliance team with insights on local laws and regulations to help the bank meet compliance standards.
- Resolve disputes related to capital market products and manage legal risks.
- Help with strategic planning and execution within the capital market's legal framework.
- Communicate regularly with the Head of Legal in Japan and the APAC Regional Head of GML to ensure transparency and proper reporting.
- Work with capital market departments and business units.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors and counterparties' legal teams.
- Use standard IT systems and platforms like Master Agreement databases and T360 to support legal work.
- Comply with all legal and regulatory rules, including the Japan Compliance manual and financial security protocols.
- Stay updated on legal changes affecting the bank and complete required training to keep your skills current.
