We are looking for an experienced Finance Legal Specialist for a full-time role at a leading financial institution in Tokyo. This position involves handling legal matters in finance, supporting various business areas, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main legal advisor, working with business units on legal issues related to transactions and advice.
- Draft and review legal documents in Japanese and English, such as loan agreements and confidentiality agreements.
- Assist in capital market activities by preparing documents for ISDA/CSA, repos, and structured products.
- Work with external lawyers to provide top-notch legal support.
- Advise the Compliance Department on local regulations and how they affect business.
- Keep up with legal changes in the financial sector and share insights with stakeholders.
- Offer strategic legal advice on regulatory issues, aligning with business goals.
- Report regularly to the Head of Legal, Japan, and work with regional legal teams.
- Collaborate closely with all business lines and departments.
- Use standard IT tools and databases for financial institutions.
- Follow all legal, regulatory, and compliance rules.
- Complete required training to maintain professional skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in finance legal roles, with strong skills in drafting complex legal documents.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in the financial sector.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work well with diverse teams.
