This client is a globally expanding Legal AI company that combines cutting-edge AI technology with deep expertise in law and contracts. With operations across Japan, the US, and the UK, and recent expansion through international M&A, growth is accelerating rapidly.
The core mission is to unlock value using LLMs and AI agents, in strategic collaboration with OpenAI. The flagship platform surpassed ¥10B ARR within just 6.5 years, and multiple new AI products are now scaling beyond legal into other high-expertise domains.As a backend engineer, you’ll join the Knowledge Platform team, building and operating internal-facing web applications that extract, structure, and optimize knowledge used across multiple AI-driven products. Your work will directly impact product quality, system performance, and business growth.
What You’ll Do
  • Design, build, and operate scalable web applications for information extraction
  • Own features end-to-end: planning, design, implementation, testing, and production
  • Improve system architecture, performance, and developer productivity
  • Work with cloud-native and containerized environments
  • Collaborate with a diverse, high-caliber engineering team in Japan and globally
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in web system development
  • Experience designing systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Production experience in Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similar
  • Japanese and English proficiency (Business level) 

Compensation & Benefits
  • ¥9.2M – ¥15M annual compensation (based on experience)
  • Full-flex or discretionary work system (no core hours)
