Our client are a prominent financial services company with an office in central Tokyo, seeking an Asset Services Specialist.

This role supports market operations in Japan, including services for clients, in-house traders, and offshore entities, with a focus on equity and fixed income products.

Responsibilities

• Handle inquiries from the front office and clients, confirm payments accurately and promptly, and conduct phone confirmations.
• Research and inform clients about dividends, corporate actions, coupons, and redemptions.
• Ensure client entitlements and instructions for voluntary events are accurate; coordinate with agent banks.
• Process receipts from agent banks, allocate payments to client accounts, and manage external payments.
• Conduct account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and handle tax processes including withholding tax payments.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports.
• Manage projects to introduce new businesses, improve efficiency, and replace legacy systems.

Required Skills and Experience

• Familiar with operational risk and controls.
• Team-oriented approach.
• Experience in asset servicing, especially in equity and fixed income.
• Background in financial operations, such as settlements.
• Open to new challenges and detail-focused.
• JSDA class 1 and 2 certifications, with a preference for those with internal control management experience.
