Job Title: Vaccines Medical Manager Function: Medical Affairs – Vaccines Scope: Japan (with Global / Regional Interface) Role Overview A global pharmaceutical organization is seeking a Vaccines Franchise Medical Manager to lead and execute the non-promotional medical and scientific strategy for an adult vaccines portfolio in Japan. This role acts as a strategic medical partner to the business, combining deep therapy-area expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration to raise standards of care, shape clinical practice, and deliver patient-centric medical strategies aligned with franchise objectives. Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the medical and scientific strategy for the vaccines franchise
Act as a strategic partner to commercial and cross-functional stakeholders
Drive integrated evidence planning, including data gap analysis and RWE strategy
Translate complex scientific and clinical data into actionable medical insights
Build and maintain strong relationships with external experts and stakeholders
Collaborate closely with global and regional medical teams to ensure local input into broader strategies
Lead the creation and execution of medical plans and digital scientific content
Champion patient-centricity in all medical activities
Influence across networks and contribute to team development through coaching and mentoring
Required Experience & Skills
Strong medical affairs or clinical background within pharma or healthcare
Deep understanding of vaccines, immunology, epidemiology, or related therapy areas
Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Excellent communication and scientific engagement capabilities
Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills
Education
MD (preferred), PhD, or PharmD
Languages
Full professional proficiency in English and Japanese
