The Opportunity We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Medical Manager to lead scientific credibility and product differentiation for our Japanese portfolio. This is a high-impact role requiring seamless collaboration with regional and global stakeholders. Strategic Medical Leadership
Architect and execute the Japan-specific medical strategy and annual roadmaps.
Clearly define the therapeutic value and scientific distinctiveness of our consumer health brands.
Partner with Commercial, Regulatory, and Global Medical teams to fuel the local innovation pipeline.
Evidence Generation & Insight
Lead the design and management of local clinical trials, Real-World Evidence (RWE) initiatives, and observational studies.
Generate robust data to support product claims, strategic positioning, and regulatory filings.
Distill complex scientific data into accessible, compelling narratives for both Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and the general public.
External Engagement & Advocacy
Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic bodies, and medical societies.
Facilitate scientific exchange through advisory boards, educational forums, and industry events.
Gather and synthesize field insights to influence brand evolution and strategic direction.
Innovation & Product Lifecycle
Provide critical medical guidance for new product development and local registration strategies.
Identify science-backed opportunities to enhance product claims and extend the lifecycle of existing brands.
Conduct medical assessments for potential business development and acquisition opportunities.
Governance & Compliance
Serve as the guardian of ethical conduct, ensuring all activities align with local regulations, industry codes, and internal SOPs.
Oversight and medical approval of all promotional, advertising, and educational materials to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
Scientific "Edutainment" & Literacy
Spearhead the creation of engaging "edutainment" content that simplifies scientific concepts for consumers and HCPs alike.
Leverage digital and physical platforms to increase health literacy and build brand trust.
Candidate Profile Minimum Requirements:
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field.
Language: Mandatory native-level English; Japanese fluency is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills: Proven track record in clinical research, RWE, and cross-functional project management.
Soft Skills: A proactive, "growth-mindset" personality with the ability to multitask in a high-pressure, dynamic setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience within a multinational healthcare or pharmaceutical corporation.
An established network within the Japanese medical and regulatory landscape.
A genuine passion for self-care innovation and consumer health.
