I’m representing a US game company that is hiring a Senior QA Engineer for a new 3D mobile game being built from the ground up.
What makes this role interesting is the level of ownership. This is not a purely execution-focused QA position. The team wants someone who can be embedded in development from early feature discussions through milestone delivery, helping drive test strategy, quality standards, and risk management across the build.
The project is led by industry veterans with experience on Game of War, so the expectations are high and the team cares deeply about craft, quality, and execution.
This role is a strong fit for someone who wants to do more than just find bugs. They are looking for a QA professional who can build strong test coverage, improve development efficiency, and act as a trusted quality partner to the wider team.
What you’ll be doing:
Act as an embedded QA partner within the development team
Help shape quality standards from early feature discussions onward
Build and improve test coverage across key game features
Identify risks early and support quality through milestone delivery
Work on a new 3D mobile game with a team that includes veterans with experience on Game of War
What they need:
Strong senior-level experience in game QA
Hands-on testing experience in Unity
Ability to create effective test plans and test coverage
Confidence working cross-functionally and communicating quality risks clearly
Familiarity with bug tracking tools, GitHub UI, and basic Git commands
English and Japanese communication skills
Compensation is well above what most game companies in Japan offer! If this sounds relevant, feel free to apply or message me directly. Happy to share more details.
