Head of Operations

• - Be the main contact for operations in Japan, managing trade support and settling Japanese equities for international and domestic clients.
• - Work closely with the Japan COO and Head of Compliance to ensure regulatory reports are accurate and submitted on time.
• - Oversee daily operations, including exchange clearing, cash management, and trust bank activities, while communicating effectively with teams in Japan and Hong Kong.
• - Manage stock borrowing transactions to cover broker fails, ensuring efficient processes.
• - Support trade uploads and help with account openings on the I-Star platform.
• - Lead and mentor team members to promote high performance.

• - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• - At least 15 years of experience in equities operations, including custody settlement, cash management, and corporate actions.
• - Proven experience in business transformation and launching new products to expand client bases.
• - Experience with multiple asset classes like Equity Derivatives and Fixed Income, preferably in Investment Banking or Wealth Management.
• - Skilled in using automation tools and improving operational efficiencies.
• - Strong understanding of Japanese market regulations, with experience dealing with JASDEC, JSCC, JPX, BOJ, and FSA.
• - Proven leadership in managing teams and achieving strategic goals.
• - Experience in managing outsourcing controls, governance, and business continuity planning.
• - Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with clients and partners at all levels.
• - Fluent in both Japanese and English, written and spoken.
