The Director of Sales will oversee and lead the sales strategy to achieve business objectives for Patina Hotels & Resorts. This full-time, on-site role based in Tokyo, Japan, involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. Duties include creating strategic sales plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, representing the brand at key events, and providing mentorship to the sales team. Maintaining a deep understanding of market trends and adapting strategies accordingly will also be critical.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to deliver revenue and market share targets for Patina Hotels & Resorts. Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, leisure, and travel trade segments. Build, nurture, and expand strong long‑term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Lead the preparation and execution of sales plans, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall commercial goals. Collaborate closely with Marketing, Revenue, Operations, and other cross‑functional teams to maximise performance and brand visibility. Represent Patina at trade shows, roadshows, industry events, and client engagements as a brand ambassador. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the sales team, fostering a high‑performance, results‑driven culture. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights, translating findings into actionable strategies and tactical plans.
At least 5 years of management experience including corporate and tradeshows. Proven experience in sales strategy development, client management, and achieving revenue targets in luxury hospitality or related industries. Strong strategic planning and business development skills, with expertise in market analysis and trend forecasting. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Proficiency in Japanese and English is required; additional language skills are a plus. Familiarity with the Tokyo market and its corporate and Travel Agents segment. Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
