Legal Head - IT Services / Software (法務部長募集)

We are recruiting a Legal Head for a well-established global IT services company, with a strong presence in Japan.

This is a senior role which involves collaboration across the APAC region.

Our client offers a highly flexible working style, allowing remote, hybrid, or office-based work.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate commercial and technology agreements in the APAC region, with a focus on Japan, in both English and Japanese.
• Implement localization strategies in Japan, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance with local laws.
• Act as the main legal point of contact for Sales leadership in Japan.
• Manage legal document execution by senior staff and executives.
• Provide legal and business advice to various teams.
• Conduct legal research and handle legal projects in Japan and APAC.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a law firm, or in-house role within a tech company.
• License to practice law in Japan with full working rights.
• Experience with commercial agreements in the technology sector, particularly SaaS..
• Familiarity with GDPR and Japan's APPI compliance.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese, including legal terminology.
