Information Systems Manager – Digital Financial Services Employment Type: Full-time Location: Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid work environment)
Role Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Information Systems Manager to oversee the planning, deployment, and operation of internal IT systems for a newly launched digital financial platform. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the full build-out of a secure, modern IT environment supporting a fast-moving organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the internal infrastructure, managing end-user services, and leading a technical team that ensures system availability, scalability, and security.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end implementation of enterprise IT systems for a newly established digital banking environment
Define and manage IT governance processes, tools, and documentation
Oversee deployment and operation of core infrastructure (e.g., identity/access management, endpoint protection, secure connectivity)
Support both Mac and Windows device environments
Drive automation and operational improvements through the adoption of AI and cloud-based services
Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and IT compliance
Build and mentor a small but high-performing technical team
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure management
At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams of 5 or more
Broad technical knowledge across device management, security tools, network architecture, and cloud environments
Experience implementing and maintaining enterprise IT services (e.g., IdP, MDM, EDR, CASB, SASE)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or equivalent
Strong understanding of information security and regulatory compliance in financial environments
Exposure to or interest in applying AI tools for operational support and automation
Japanese: Business level (oral and written)
English: Business level (TOEIC 800+ or equivalent proficiency required)
