We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead HR operations in Japan for a well-known hospitality company. This role is key in building a positive workplace culture and ensuring that all practices meet Japanese labor laws. The right candidate will be a flexible leader skilled in managing diverse teams and driving HR strategies in a fast-changing environment. Key Responsibilities:
- - Manage the entire employee lifecycle in Japan, ensuring all practices comply with local labor laws.
- - Handle employee contracts in both Japanese and English, from start to finish.
- - Keep employee records accurate and manage confidential offboarding processes.
- - Lead hiring for seasonal roles, especially for winter operations in main locations.
- - Oversee job postings, interviews, and offer processes.
- - Ensure smooth onboarding, including housing and orientation.
- - Ensure all HR operations follow Japanese laws and company standards.
- - Help with visa processes and work with local authorities.
- - Oversee attendance, leave, and payroll tracking.
- - Create an inclusive and engaging work environment.
- - Facilitate communication among diverse teams and lead engagement activities.
- - Make HR updates interesting using creative communication methods.
- - Support performance reviews and career development.
- - Identify training needs and organize learning opportunities.
- - Adjust HR policies to local needs and work on performance management projects.
- - Work on improving employee experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in HR or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of Japanese labor law and HR practices.
- Experience working in diverse and people-focused environments.
- Empathetic with strong people skills.
- Adaptable and excels in fast-paced, seasonal environments.
- Positive and creative with a team-oriented communication style.
