Cloud Services Manager / Insurance Industry / Tokyo

A leading insurance company is looking for a skilled Cloud Services Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will manage the engineering team, contribute to cloud strategies, and ensure the successful building, maintenance, and updating of application platforms using cloud-native technologies. Bilingual candidates currently residing in Japan will be prioritized.

Role Overview:

• Manage engineering team, overseeing talent and vendor management
• Review artifacts and CI/CD pipeline; ensure familiarity with SRE models and concepts
• Maintain and upgrade cloud application platforms in compliance with SLA and security standards
• Evaluate technical and non-functional requirements, building consensus in both business and technical perspectives
• Handle project/task management, addressing integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management
• Encourage innovation, cutting-edge technology implementation, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

Requirements:

• Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese (written and oral communication)
• 3+ years of leadership and people management experience in a diverse workplace
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with 10+ years of IT work experience
• Experience in network administration, web technologies, cloud-native technologies, and application development support
• 5+ years of product/platform management experience, preferably using Agile methodologies such as SAFe
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Well-organized and able to work independently with minimal direction
• Must currently reside in Japan
