I am hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a Tokyo-based data and AI company founded by University of Tokyo alumni.
The company supports major financial institutions, asset managers, real estate companies, and public-sector organizations through alternative data, modern data platforms, and Generative AI solutions.
The Data & AI organization is led by a 2026 Snowflake Data Superhero, one of only 128 selected globally and 15 in Japan.

What you will do
• Design and operate scalable data platforms and pipelines
• Work with payment, POS, location, advertising, real estate, and financial data
• Build cloud-native infrastructure using Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Terraform
• Support enterprise data platform and Generative AI projects
• Influence architecture, technical strategy, and product direction
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team building

Scale and stack
• 20TB+ of data scanned daily
• 200,000+ queries
• 30+ data sources
• Python, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Terraform, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Docker, OpenAI

Requirements
• Strong production data engineering experience
• Python and cloud infrastructure experience
• Experience building and operating data platforms
• Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code experience
• Docker and Snowflake experience
• Strong ownership and customer-focused mindset
