Overview

Our client is a growing Japanese space technology company seeking a Legal Manager to oversee a broad corporate legal function in an expanding commercial environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Japanese and English contract negotiations and reviews
  • Support corporate governance and shareholder meeting processes
  • Lead compliance programs including policy development and training
  • Handle legal risk management and conduct legal research
  • Oversee legal team performance and manage legal function operations
  • Advise on licensing and regulatory compliance for space technology
  • Coordinate with international teams on cross-border legal matters
  • Provide legal business advisory to support company growth initiatives

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of corporate legal experience
  • Experience in reviewing and drafting Japanese and English contracts
  • Fluent Japanese, fluent English language skills
  • Experience reviewing national defense contracts
  • Knowledge of licensing and regulatory compliance in Japan
  • Ability to lead compliance programs and internal legal training
  • Experience handling disputes, litigation, and whistleblowing cases
