English Version Commercial Data & Insights Lead Role Purpose & Strategic Context The Japan affiliate is driving a transformation toward becoming a genuinely data-driven organization, and this role sits at the center of that effort. You will lead the development of business intelligence solutions, establish data governance standards, and build a unified data platform for the Japan business from the ground up. Working closely with stakeholders from sales and other functions across the business, you will translate business needs into high-quality, decision-ready insights — while safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of the data behind them. This is a hands-on, build-and-own role, well suited to someone motivated by creating core data infrastructure and seeing its impact across the business, rather than managing a team. Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions — primarily in Power BI — that support day-to-day, data-driven decision-making
Partner with the field force effectiveness (FFE) function and other business stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, and continuously improve dashboards and tools
Lead the build-out of a centralized Japan data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), bringing together sales, field activity, and market data (e.g., IQVIA) from across departments
Establish and maintain data governance standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across systems
Translate business requirements into practical technical and data solutions
Integrate and reconcile data from multiple local systems, and connect local data structures with global systems
Proactively identify and propose opportunities to improve how the organization uses data
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in dashboard development, business intelligence, data analytics, or information systems
Demonstrated, hands-on experience building dashboards in Power BI or an equivalent BI platform (key requirement)
Practical experience integrating data from multiple local systems into a central data platform, and connecting local platforms with global or regional systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience preferred (genuine interest in the industry also welcomed)
Working knowledge of database management, programming languages, data warehousing, data lakes, or data governance practices is a plus
Language Requirements
English: Basic daily conversational skills in English are sufficient.
Japanese: Business-level Japanese is expected, given day-to-day collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders across the affiliate.
