I am hiring a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer for one of Japan’s most ambitious AI research companies, backed by approximately ¥10B in initial funding.
Unlike companies focused mainly on integrating existing LLM APIs, this team is developing its own AI models, algorithms, and architecture toward a new form of personalized AGI. The company combines fundamental AI research with product engineering, applying both proprietary technology and existing LLMs to enterprise systems and future global consumer products.

What you will do
• Design and build production AI applications from architecture to deployment
• Develop full-stack products across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure
• Integrate AI products with enterprise and legacy systems
• Address performance, security, reliability, and other non-functional requirements
• Build evaluation pipelines, hallucination controls, and monitoring systems
• Translate business problems into technical requirements and architecture decisions
• Transfer systems to client engineering teams and provide ongoing technical support
• Share field insights with internal product and research teams

What we are looking for
• Experience leading the design, development, and operation of large-scale cloud systems
• Strong full-stack software engineering experience
• Experience building and operating production AI applications
• Business-level Japanese for onsite collaboration and technical documentation
