About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a Machine Learning and Data Analysis organization responsible for converting complex manufacturing data—including drawings, CAD files, technical documents, and structured datasets—into valuable business intelligence and AI-driven solutions. This role will oversee multiple teams of machine learning engineers and data specialists, driving both organizational leadership and technical strategy. You will partner closely with product, platform, MLOps, application development, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI solutions while building and growing a high-performing global team. This is a rare opportunity to lead the development of globally deployed AI products and help establish a Japanese-born technology platform as an international industry standard.
Requirements
- Experience developing and deploying machine learning models into production environments
- Proven people management experience leading machine learning or data science teams
- Strong experience in hiring, performance management, coaching, and team development
- Business-level Japanese communication skills (able to conduct meetings and daily work in Japanese)
- Experience leading technical strategy and execution in complex engineering organizations
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on business impact
- Experience managing teams in high-growth startup or scale-up environments
- Experience managing multinational or distributed engineering teams
- Business-level English proficiency
- Product Management experience
- Experience working with AI, machine learning, data platforms, or large-scale analytics systems
- Exposure to MLOps, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices
