What if the software you build helped business leaders around the world understand what’s happening across Asia?
I’m hiring a Backend Engineer for the flagship English-language platform of one of Japan’s most influential business media groups, with deep ties to one of the world’s leading financial publications.
The engineering team is now bringing more backend development in-house, creating a rare opportunity to shape both the technology and engineering culture behind a global digital media product.

What you’ll work on:
  • Backend architecture and product development
  • ID / CRM and content management platforms
  • Data pipelines, analytics and engagement systems
  • APIs and high-traffic web services
  • Cloud infrastructure across AWS / Google Cloud
  • Direct product collaboration with editorial and business teams
  • Engineering projects with international teams and UK-based partners

Tech environment:
PHP / TypeScript / JavaScript / Python / Rust
Node.js / React / Next.js / Symfony
AWS / Google Cloud / Fastly

The backend team is intentionally small, so individual engineers have real ownership and broad technical scope.
