Join a fast-growing AI robotics startup that is building one of Japan's next-generation robotics platforms. Backed by one of Japan's most successful AI technology companies with over US$60M in funding, the company combines the speed and ownership of a startup with the resources and stability of an established tech leader. Their mission is to make intelligent service robots a reality in hospitals, hotels, retail stores, and other real-world environments. Unlike many robotics companies focused on research or warehouse automation, their robots are already being deployed in the field, giving engineers the opportunity to see their work make a tangible impact.
What you'll do
Research, develop, and deploy Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models for real-world robotics applications.
Design and optimize 2D/3D SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion systems.
Build perception pipelines using LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and other sensor data.
Collaborate with AI, robotics, and hardware teams to bring cutting-edge research into production.
Validate algorithms in simulation and deploy them on physical robots.
What they're looking for
3+ years of experience in SLAM, Visual Odometry (VO), VIO, robotics, autonomous driving, or related fields.
Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
Experience with ROS/ROS2 and Linux development environments.
Hands-on experience working with LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, or other robotics sensors.
Deep learning experience with PyTorch or JAX.
Fluent English. Japanese is optional!
Why join?
Build robots that are already operating in real-world environments—not just research labs.
Be part of an ambitious startup backed by one of Japan's leading AI technology companies.
Help shape the future of service robotics and embodied AI.
Enjoy high ownership, fast decision-making, and the opportunity to influence product direction from an early stage.
Grow your career alongside a rapidly expanding company in one of the world's fastest-growing industries.
