The Skills and Experience You Need to Succeed  

• 5-10 years of corporate compliance experience e.g. general corporate, internal investigations, conflict of interests rather than internal audit / risk management compliance
  (Note: in house legal counsel with an interest to fully switch to a compliance function also welcome)
• Experience in creating compliance models and training programmes is a plus
• Candidates from any industry welcome but must have a strong interest in retail
• Native Japanese and excellent English in both written and spoken
• Management skills (there is no team to manage in Japan but candidate should be able to handle various stakeholders and build relationships with people both overseas and in Japan)
• A self starter - able to work independently but also effectively with other colleagues
• Able to lead meetings - small and large
• Personality traits: approachable, friendly and flexible
• Motivations: interest in retail, curious to learn, interested in handling foreign stakeholders
