Associate – Litigation and Disputes

Our client provides IT solutions and services including infrastructure to a range of industries and businesses in Japan, they are a leader in their field of particular technology.

They need a full-time Legal counsel to review, amend, draft and edit a range of contracts to assist Sales to close deals. This is a deal driven business on the front side so you need to have a pro-active can do attitude and be willing to respond to requests from the business as and when. Your mandate is to also protect and maintain high standards of legal due diligence and negotiation with sales personnel and the client directly to close deals whilst maintaining a deliverable and consistent service.

English and Japanese are required at bilingual/native-level in at least one if not both languages.

You will be in charge of a range of legal matters, reporting directly to APAC General Counsel and the General Manager in Japan.

Qualifications: Licenced lawyer in at least one jurisdiction strongly preferred.

5–10 years PQE with some in-house experience.

Required Skills

• Native-level English or Japanese, with fluency in the other (English or Japanese).
• NY or other US state licensed lawyer required.
• Track record of success in working in litigious matters.
• Bengoshi and US license is also welcome.
• Graduated from a good law school with a strong academic record.
• 3 to 5 years PQE.
• Available to work overtime.
