A Japan-based AI technology company developing and providing AI-powered products for professional and specialized business operations. The company has expanded internationally and is rapidly incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as LLMs and AI agents into its products. The company is now looking for a VPoE / Engineering Leader to strengthen and scale its AI engineering organization in Japan.

You will work across multiple Business Units and lead the development of the overall AI engineering organization, covering AI talent acquisition, organizational design, people management, career development, evaluation, and operating model design.This is not purely a people-management role. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience building and operating LLM / AI Agent products in production, while also having the leadership experience to build high-performing AI engineering teams.


Requirements: 

  • Recent commercial product development and production experience, including technical decision-making, code/design reviews, incident response, etc.
  • Experience developing and operating LLM / AI Agent features in production
  • 3+ years of people / organizational management experience, such as EM or VPoE
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across Engineering, Product, HR, Business, and other functions
  • Fluent Japanese and Strong English reading/writing skills
