Overview
Our client is a publicly traded cybersecurity company that has achieved steady growth and is now entering an exciting new phase. As part of this evolution, they are looking to build out their Legal function into a more strategic, proactive team. This junior-level role offers the chance to work closely with senior management and play a hands-on part in shaping a growing legal function at an established, listed company. It also comes with flexible working arrangements, including remote work options, and the opportunity to build a global legal career with a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and revise English and Japanese contracts for risk mitigation
  • Research foreign laws and regulations for business expansion
  • Advise business divisions on legal issues related to operations
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to executive management in Japanese and English
  • Support establishment of an independent Legal Department
  • Develop offensive legal strategies to support business growth
  • Collaborate with international teams on legal and compliance matters
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance for a publicly traded company

Requirements
  • 5+ years legal experience in law firm or in-house
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Experience drafting and reviewing contracts in English and Japanese
  • Knowledge of foreign laws and regulations related to business expansion
  • Experience with corporate governance and compliance in publicly traded companies preferred
  • Ability to deliver presentations to executive management in Japanese and English preferred
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases is preferred but not mandatory
