A leading Japanese FinTech company is hiring a Lead Engineer for its ML Platform team in Tokyo.
You will lead the technical strategy and architecture for a machine learning platform used in financial and credit-related domains, where data scale, security, governance, explainability, and auditability are all critical.

What you will work on:
• Define the technical roadmap for the ML platform
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical architecture
• Design and oversee large-scale data pipelines using Databricks and AWS
• Build secure, low-latency data foundations for financial and credit-related products
• Define governance and security architecture, including IAM, permissions, auditability, and Security by Design
• Improve MLOps environments for model deployment, operation, monitoring, and standardization
• Drive technical alignment across engineering, legal, compliance, and business teams

What we are looking for:
• Strong software engineering background in backend, infrastructure, data platform, or ML platform development
• Experience leading architecture decisions and technical strategy
• Deep understanding of data engineering, ETL, DWH, data lakes, and performance tuning
• Ability to document complex technical decisions clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with MLOps, Databricks, SageMaker, or financial systems is a strong plus
• Business-level Japanese and basic business-level English
