A Boutique M&A Advisory firm is looking for an Associate to join their TMT business. This firm is well known within the industry here in Japan, as they concluded one of the largest deals in 2019. The associate will be given the opportunity to do, "end to end" work, and gain a level of expertise which will outclass their peers within the market.

Your Responsibilities

• Work with clients and participate in the execution of M&A transactions
• Provide support to senior investment banking professionals to develop marketing leads and ideas to generate new business
• Assisting senior bankers in process management, e.g. due diligence
• Conduct due diligence and assess seller’s and target’s business plans, growth prospects and financial performance
• Perform valuation analysis and apply diverse methodologies, including comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, leveraged buyout analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis
• Attend and actively participate in meetings with client’s senior team members
• A wide variety of other tasks to support the diverse activities of M&A advisory
• Prepare research reports and industry presentations

The Skills and Experience You Need to Succeed

• Excellent communication skills in both Japanese (Business) and English (Business)
• No specific sector experience is required
• Financial modeling and the ability to make valuations
• Ability to make quick/definitive analytical choices
• Able to thrive within a fast paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, a “team player,” organized and high level of attention to detail
• Open to either an investment banking background or Big 4 experience
