Please tell us about your career to date
For five years after graduating from university, I worked as a system engineer developing large-scale financial systems. In the 15 years following that, I worked for a foreign-capital ERP vendor providing support for ERP financial accounting products, product management, and product enhancement services.
Now, I’m working for a foreign-capital consulting company specializing in ERP system implementation.
What was your motivation to change jobs?
My most recent job at the consulting company working on ERP system implementation was really interesting and rewarding, but it wasn’t a place where I could make direct use of my many years of support experience at the ERP vendor, so I decided to look for a support role at an ERP vendor that would allow me to leverage my knowledge and experience.
What made you decide on your new position?
I received a referral from Specialized Group for a position that would make good use of my experience and would provide the kind of career path I was looking for, so I decided to apply immediately.
Did anything about changing jobs make you feel uneasy?
There was nothing in the process of changing jobs this time that was problematic, though I feel bad that I might have inconvenienced my previous company by leaving.
What did you think of our company’s services?
I feel that Specialized Group understood well what I was aiming for, and I really appreciate the careful selection of positions that I was referred to. I received detailed advice during the interview process and subsequent negotiations, and never felt that I was alone in my job hunt.
Do you have any message for people thinking of changing jobs?
I think the most important thing is to consider carefully what you are capable of doing and what you would like to do. I think it’s also necessary to reflect upon your past and contemplate your future in order to choose the right company and role, and to work toward your goals with a fresh outlook in your new job.
